About Us
About Us
Welcome to the Cranfield Islamic Society (CIS)
At CIS we believe that faith, community and learning go hand‑in‑hand. Whether you’re a first‑year student stepping onto campus for the first time, an international scholar exploring new horizons, or a local resident looking to deepen your understanding of Islam, our doors are open to you. We’re more than a prayer space – we’re a vibrant, inclusive hub where students and community members alike can grow spiritually, academically, and socially.
Our Mission
Islam is a monotheistic faith that teaches the existence of one incomparable God—Allah—and acknowledges Prophet Muhammad as His final messenger. As the world’s second‑largest religion and its fastest‑growing major faith, Islam emphasizes God’s mercy, omnipotence and uniqueness. CIS is committed to:
-
- Providing a welcoming environment for Muslim students and the wider community.
- Facilitating spiritual practice through clean, well‑maintained prayer facilities and regular worship services.
- Promoting knowledge of Islam through educational programs, lectures, and study circles.
- Fostering a sense of belonging by celebrating the diverse cultural tapestry that makes up our community.
- Encouraging civic engagement and social responsibility through volunteerism, charity work and interfaith dialogue.
Our Vision
To be a beacon of faith, learning and community on campus—an inclusive space where every individual can explore their spirituality, connect with others, and contribute positively to society.
